Newquay Guide

A few tips on places to stay and go

ACCOMMODATION

There are literally hundreds of accommodation options in the Newquay area, but here are a selection of those that we know offer good standards at good prices. Of course, feel free to ask us for more information if you want the inside scoop. Please note, accommodation is not included in the course fees. Alternatively try a website like Trivago or Booking.com.

Camping & Touring

New Perran Holiday park (www.newperran.co.uk) is where we conduct the vast majority of the pool sessions for the courses. They also have a great range of options, from simple camping to caravans and apartments. Our students can get 10% off their stay here. You would need access to a car as we meet in Newquay.

You can find a page containing their current tariffs if you follow this link.

Newquay View Resort  – (www.peterbullresorts.co.uk/newquay-view-resort/) is where we hold the Mermaid courses and some other short courses. They have a wide range of options including Glamping Pods, caravans and camping, as well a whole host of other activities on offer.

Trenance Holiday Park – http://trenanceholidaypark.co.uk/

The nearest camping & Caravan site to town, they do not accept single sex groups.

Hotels

The Esplanade Hotel – We meet outside this hotel in the morning of most of our courses its a very easy base for students!  http://www.newquay-hotels.co.uk/the-esplanade-hotel.html .

The Carnmarth hotel – Just a pleasant walk across Fistral Beach to our morning meeting point. http://www.carnmarth.com/

The Pentire Hotel – On the Pentire Headland just a very short walk from our morning meeting point  http://www.pentirehotelnewquay.co.uk/.

B&Bs

There must be over a hundred B&Bs in the area. The only one we have had any experience with, and receives glowing reviews from our students is Deep Green Lodgehttp://deepgreenlodge.com/

Hostels

There are several cheap hostels in the area. We don’t recommend any one over the rest as we have had mixed reviews from them all. Expect cheap prices, but noisy nights especially during the summer.

Eating Out

Gustos Deli – Take-away deli and open until about 3pm – serving some of our absolute favourite food in Newquay, well worth a visit if you are in town during lunch time. No website but checkout their facebook page here… you will not regret it!

Lewinnick Lodge – A nice pub & restaurant with amazing views on the Pentire Headland

www.lewinnicklodge.co.uk

Beach Lamb Café – A lovely café in town, great lunches and coffee

Whiskers Café & Wine Bar – A nice café during the daytime and lively wine bar in the evening, often has live music  www.whiskersnewquay.co.uk

The Stables – Serves great food and drinks with a view! Right on Fistral Beach. (Also in the same building is Rick Steins Fish & Chip Shop) stablepizza.com

Bank Street Bar & Grill – Good burger restaurant in centre of town, great deals on Wednesdays (you will need to book though!). www.bankstreetnewquay.co.uk

The Fish House – Fish restaurant located right on Fistral Beach, we have heard good reviews
