Focused one-to-one coaching for freedivers who want to understand what is holding them back, improve their mechanics and make their time in the water count.
Sometimes the next step isn't a new qualification. It's a closer look at the way you dive. An equalisation problem, an inefficient descent or a skill that works on land but disappears underwater can all become frustrating obstacles.
We start with your experience and the specific issue you want to address, then build the day around observation, practical drills and useful feedback. The aim is to understand the mechanics, not just repeat the same attempt.
Identify leaks, timing problems and unnecessary tension, then develop more reliable dry and in-water mechanics.
Work on the entry, streamlining, finning, weighting and overall efficiency of your descent.
Build sounder judgement and practical safety habits around conditions, buddy procedures and rescue scenarios.
Explore preparation, air transfer, pressure management and relaxation for divers ready to develop advanced equalisation.
Revisit a particular skill after a course, rebuild confidence or address requirements that haven't yet clicked.
Bring freediving skills into the coastal environment, with an emphasis on safe, considered and sustainable practice.

I founded FreediveUK in 2009 and have spent the years since teaching people to freedive, from complete beginners to experienced divers working on the finer points of their technique. I'm an AIDA instructor trainer and the author of Underwater Foraging – Freediving for Food.
Alongside teaching, I work on film and television productions, providing underwater safety oversight and breath-hold coaching for performers and crews. It is work that demands close observation, sound judgement and an ability to adapt when things don't go to plan.
That is what I bring to a private coaching day. Rather than putting you through another fixed programme, I can spend the time watching how you dive, identifying what's getting in the way and helping you make practical changes.
One day · Individual tuition
Before we meet: a 30-minute planning call to discuss your diving, goals and any particular sticking points.
On the day: focused coaching and practical exercises selected around your needs, with clear takeaways to continue working on afterwards.
Training with another diver? The existing two-person clinic option is £550 for the day. We'll discuss whether your goals make a shared session worthwhile.
Dates, location and the balance of dry and in-water work depend on your objectives and conditions.
