Practical aquatic risk management, breath-hold coaching and production support for film, television and commercial shoots. Directly led by Ian Donald.
Water adds complexity to a production. Performers, camera teams, locations and changing conditions all need to work together without losing sight of the risks.
I'm Ian Donald, founder of FreediveUK. My work brings together years of freediving instruction, underwater safety experience and a background in multimedia. I work directly with production teams to assess what a scene requires, prepare the people involved and put workable safety arrangements in place.
Scene assessment, risk planning, RAMS and emergency arrangements, on-set monitoring and coordination with the wider safety team.
Breath-hold familiarisation, movement coaching and practical preparation for performers working in or around water, with appropriate safety limits.
Support with location considerations, aquatic conditions, crew briefings and safe working practices for camera and production personnel.
Water-based filming support for commercial campaigns, product work and specialist sequences that need an experienced aquatic perspective.
FreediveUK was founded in 2009. I'm an AIDA instructor trainer and the author of Underwater Foraging – Freediving for Food. Alongside private coaching, I've worked with actors, stunt performers and production crews where clear communication and good decisions matter as much as technical diving ability.
You're dealing directly with me from the initial discussion through to the practical planning and delivery of the work, with additional specialist personnel brought in where a production requires them.

Previous client and production work includes: Tudor Watches, Channel 4, ITV, ITV Australia, BBC, Epsealon, Farer Watches, Yamaha Marine and Secret Compass.
