We are returning to Tenerife this spring for a weeks training in the clear blue waters of this volcanic Canarian island.
Tenerife has some of the best off season freediving due to its southern latitude, easy connection from the UK and almost immediatly deep water off the coast.
The spring 2025 trip will run from the 29th March until the 5th of April and spaces are limited
On this trip, join the FreediveUK team in the next level of your training, with the opportunity to achieve your AIDA level 1,2,3,4 or instructor certification. If you don’t want to work towards certification, that’s fine, as general training will be on offer to anyone who wants it too. There will be 5 full days of training on the trip and one day off in the middle. Training will be lead by Ian Donald, AIDA instructor trainer of 15 years and author of Underwater forging – freediving for food. We will also be joined by Graham Bergin, AIDA instructor, club leader and competitive diver.
General training with no certification (already level 2 or equivalent )- £500
AIDA level 1&2 – £525
AIDA level 3 – £550

AIDA instructor training (not complete course due to time constraints) – £700
Training
Training will be held on the sheltered east coast in and around the town of Radazul, where we will have access to a pool for statics, and dynamics, classroom space for theory and space for stretching and breathing training.
Depth work will be conducted on professionally set up dive lines with a maximum of 4 students per instructor. This will mostly be shore diving but we have scheduled one boat dive at the end for those wanting to go a bit deeper (pending conditions).
Beyond the dive training itself, we will have plenty of opportunities to explore the coast and have plenty of ‘fun’ dives.
There is a wreck just off the coast which you can explore, lots of stunning coves and abundant marine life. On our last trip there we saw barracuda, parrotfish, amberjacks, rays and dolphins.
Equipment can be rented for 20 euros per day. Please note that students doing their AIDA 4 or Instructors should really have all their own equipment. If you need any help in selecting equipment just get in touch.
Accommodation
We will not be providing accommodation directly on this trip as there isn’t a large residence in the area that we can rent which can accommodate our numbers to the standard that we require. Therefore we will instead be suggesting an area and a selection of options that you may want to consider. This gives you the flexibility to keep within a budget, share with other students or stay with family. To all those that place a deposit or pay in full for the training, we will add to a WhatsApp group (with your permission) so that you can discuss accommodation options or discuss sharing apartments etc.
As we won’t all be staying in the same place we will ensure that we arrange somewhere to meet to socialise, eat and drink so that if you are traveling on your own you can still enjoy the group dynamics of a fun and relaxed FreediveUK trip! There is a great pizza restaurant in the village and several very nice cafes and bars at the harbour. There are also yoga platforms all along the beach, so we have lots of places to hang out.
Transfers and transport
We will rent suitable vehicles to transport our group wherever we may need to go, and this will all be included in your training costs. Transfers from the airport will be possible but we ask you to get either the following flight or one that arrives at a similar time in order to take this offer, as the journey to the airport is 45 minutes each way so we can’t make it multiple times in the day.
Our flights are as follows, remember, anything arriving or departing at a similar time will get free transfers.
